Our Terms and Conditions of Enrolment

In this Agreement:

1.1  " Course" shall mean the course for which you or your child are enrolled and all related learning materials, support and tuition.

1.2  The "Period" of your Course is the time over which we will continue to provide you or your child with learning support and depends on which course you or your child choose to study, and when you or your child choose to sit for your examination. The maximum period for any course is two years.

2. Fees and Payment

2.1 We agree to sell, and you agree to buy the Course for the price and on the terms set out in our fees schedule. Homeschooling (under 18) fees are different from Adult fees (over 18) in recognition of the extra support generally required by homeschoolers.

2.2  The fees shown include the cost of postage within the UK but do NOT include the cost of sending textbooks outside the UK by airmail or courier.  These charges, which differ from country to country, will be quoted at the time of enrolment.

2.3  All fees are refundable (less the cost of course books) if you email us within 14 days of your enrolment that you wish to cancel your Course.

2.4  Instalment payers agree (and are legally liable) to pay all their instalments once they have enrolled, unless they cancel their Course within 14 days of enrolment.

2.5  All instalments must be paid by 2 months before the relevant examination.

3. Services

3.1 During the period of your Course, we will provide you or your child with support and tuition as described under How It Works (see menu bar at top website page).

3.2 If requested, we may extend the period of your or your child's Course for an agreed fee.

3.3 If you or your child are sitting an external examination at the end of your Course, you will be solely responsible both for making arrangements with the examining body to enable you or your child to sit for the examination and for all related examination fees. We will be pleased to advise you where possible.

4. Change of Course

4.1 If you or your child wish to transfer to a different Course at any stage, we will provide every assistance in doing so.

4.2 In this event we will transfer the fees paid for the discontinued Course towards the new course, less an amount relative to the stage you had reached in the discontinued Course.

4.3 There will be a £25 administrative fee for making the Course change.

5. Deferring a Course

5.1 Should you wish to defer a Course to a later exam than that for which you were originally enrolled, you may do so by contacting your Course Manager.

5.2 There will be an administrative fee of £25 for course deferral.

6. Further Tuition Free of Charge if Necessary

Experience has shown that a student who completes all the set course assignments with reasonable grades will almost certainly pass his/her chosen exam(s). In the unlikely event of failure, Wolsey Hall will provide further tuition to the student, without charge, until the next sitting of the relevant exam.

7. Warranties and Limitation of Liability

7.1 We warrant that our learning materials will be of good quality;

7.2  We warrant that we will provide you or your child with all services with reasonable skill and care;

7.3  We shall not be liable for injury to anyone or for any damage caused during practical science experiments performed at home or elsewhere.  No harmful or toxic substances are required for any of the practical work, and parents are responsible for ensuring the safety of the environment in which their child is working.

7.4 We shall not be liable for:

(a) losses that were unforeseeable by both parties when this Agreement was made;

(b) losses that were not caused by any breach on our part;

7.5 Our liability for direct losses arising out of our negligence, breach of contract or any other cause of action in connection with this Agreement shall be limited to the total price that you have paid for the Course.

7.6 Whilst every effort is made to ensure that all downloadable files are virus free, we cannot be held liable for systems problems due to viruses.  We strongly recommend that you install all necessary virus protection software before you or your child commence your course, and keep it regularly updated.

8. Termination of contract

If at any time either the client (or his or her parent) or Wolsey Hall believes, upon reasonable grounds, that the course is no longer benefitting the student, then either party may terminate the course upon 7 days notice and no further fees are payable.

9. IT Browser requirements

Our IT learning management system will run on most browsers, but we find it less effective on Internet Explorer.  We recommend using the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, or for those using a Macintosh, Safari.

10. Copyright

All of our course materials are copyrighted and supplied solely for the use of whoever is taking the relevant course.  By applying for a course, you agree that the course material will not be used for any other purposes, and that you will abide by the law of copyright
