Joel Garner, the West Indies fast bowler, known affectionately as "Big Bird" because of his towering six feet seven stature, gained his Diploma in Management Studies through Wolsey Hall Oxford after retiring from international cricket to run a leisure business.
He is good example of how gaining a qualification through distance learning can lead on to an entirely new career.
