FAQs
We've listed below some of the questions we're asked most often.
How does distance learning work?
With distance learning you learn where and when you want. We provide a range of online learning facilities. You can fit your study around your other commitments and we'll support you every step of the way.
As you progress through your distance learning course, you'll find your ability and confidence growing all the time.
How much will it cost?
The price of your distance learning course depends upon which qualification you or your child want to achieve, and on whether you are over 18, or 18 and under. But whatever course you choose you can be sure that you are getting the best value for money possible with Wolsey Hall.
The price of each distance learning course is shown on the fees schedule in Over 18 or 18 Under sections on the menu bar. And we make things even easier for you by allowing you to spread the cost of your payment, if you wish, using our easy payment scheme.
How long will it take me?
That depends on your prior knowledge and how quickly you learn. But we estimate, on average, up to 200 hrs for an IGCSE subject and 700 hours for an A-Level subject (350 hrs for AS and 350 hrs for A2).
How soon will I be able to start?
You'll be able to start your distance learning course as soon as your application form is completed and you have made your first payment.
Will I have to sit an examination?
All IGCSE and A-Level courses require that you sit an exam in order to achieve the qualification. Our Exams Officer will give you all the advice and support you need in connection with sitting your examination and advice on examination centres in your area.
Please note that exam fees are not included in your course fee.
Can I study from outside the UK?
You can study Wolsey Hall distance learning courses from outside the UK as easily as if you were a UK resident. Usually you can sit your exam at your local British Council office but we suggest you contact the British Council before you begin your course to make certain.
What qualifications will I receive at the end of my course?
On successful completion of your home study course you'll receive a qualification from the awarding body for your qualification (e.g. from Cambridge International Examinations or Edexcel) Each course page shows exactly what qualification you'll receive at the end of the course.
