Our Tutor Team

Here are some of our talented tutor team.

Laura Jenkinson - English

I love books. I really love books. Storytelling is one of the oldest and greatest gifts humans have, and I’m fascinated by the variety of ways we have found to write them down. The only thing I'm even more passionate about is helping others to appreciate books, language and literature and develop their own skills in those areas. So always feel free to ask anything, whether it's about links between Greek Tragedy and sitcom - or simply the best way to approach an assignment.

Brian Cole - Mathematics

When anyone asks why I’m smiling, I say: “How can you teach Maths for 34 years and not smile?”. And anyway, Maths can be good fun, and not the dragon you may think it is. In any event, I’ll look forward to working with you, whether you’re highly numerate or whether you need a dragon-slayer.

Joanna Dawson - Biology & Science

I’m simply passionate about science! I love finding out how plants and animals work, and I enjoy helping other people understand this even more so. I’m very much looking forward to chatting and working with you soon, to share the wonders of science with you, and to help you get the most out of your science studies.

Wendy Strange - Chemistry and Maths

I have been teaching Chemistry and Mathematics in England for 34 years. I’m friendly, helpful and always willing to give time and advice to students who are keen to learn. I can promise you that no question that you want to ask will seem too simple or trivial. I’m known for my rapid response to queries and I am sure that we will quickly reach an effective and comfortable student / tutor relationship.

David Watkins - History

Think of me as a teacher in a real classroom – someone who is approachable and ready to listen and help. Of course we’re not face to face in a classroom, but thanks to the internet you have got my full attention. That would not be the case in a classroom. We will be working together one-to-one, and that is a definite advantage of learning with Wolsey Hall.

Carol Carter - Geography

Geography is such an important subject: it teaches us what the world we live in is like now, how it came to be this way and what it may look like in the future. I hope through your studies with Wolsey Hall you will come to love it as much as I do.

Sarah Shaw - German

Guten Tag! My name is Sarah Shaw and I have worked as a Modern Language teacher for over 20 years. I look forward to helping you to learn German, which is a language that I love and hope that you, over the course of your studies, will come to feel the same about.

June Metcalfe - French

Being able to speak a foreign language opens so many doors. And reading a book or a poem by looking at the words the writer chose makes all the difference to one’s enjoyment. Of course, speaking to someone in their own language is just the best. I wish you every success with your studies and look forward to being able to help.
