Creativity Club – Monthly Theme

Join our monthly Creativity Club for budding writers & artists!

February’s theme is:
What does this New Year, 2019, mean to you?

March’s theme is:
An Unopened Door

April’s theme is:
The Season Changes

Please produce a piece of creative writing (eg. story/poem) or piece of art (eg. 2D, sculpture, photography, digital) based on this theme. There are no rules or restrictions on your creative work, in form, style, or technique other than expressing what this new year means to you.

What matters most in any creative work is the process of self-expression. Creative experiences help us to express our feelings and inner thoughts. Creativity helps us grow by trying out new ideas or methods, and using new ways of thinking.

“Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited, whereas imagination embraces the entire world, stimulating progress, giving birth to evolution.”

– Albert Einstein

We encourage students of all levels to get involved. You can enter either a piece of writing, or art, or both! There are no limits on entries.

We will showcase the great written works and works of art in our college community area, with a chance to also feature in our Annual School Magazine.

The deadline for pieces is at the end of each month you are entering.
Please email your work to:

Hello, I wanted to know if the “express what this new year means to you” applies for the March theme as well?

Silly question. If I send in my work, what rights does Wolsey Hall get to it? Can my work not be sent anywhere else to be published if I submit it?

Hi there, we will add the works to our website here citing first name, age and country, and we may share pieces in blog posts or our social media pages. They may also be put into the Annual Magazine. But we will not be claiming copyright to any of the works and entrants remain free to publish their work wherever they like. I hope that helps!

Hi there, no limits at all! That’s the great thing about the club. It could be a short poem, or a 15,000 word story!
