Lower Secondary Art and Design

The benefits of studying Lower Secondary Art and Design

The Lower Secondary Art and Design course will enable learners to explore the limitless possibilities that exist both in art and in their own creativity. They will experiment with new techniques and media through video tutorials and be guided towards developing a personal style and approach.

We are living in a world where everything around us has been created or made, such as the chair you are sitting on, to the clothes you are wearing. Most ideas begin with a pencil and paper and a designer’s imagination and vision. This course aims to offer a wide range of new skills and techniques with which students can express their ideas, and respond to the world around them, through the medium of Art and Design.

During the lockdown I got very bored and didn’t have much to do. Now I look forward to my art lessons every Friday and it means I can work on my art all weekend as well if I want to. I have really enjoyed this course. The video lessons are very easy to follow and I have learned so many new skills. Paula makes it look easy. I love using new materials and techniques. Sometimes the skills are very hard. It is ok to make mistakes as long as you are getting better. I am very proud of my work. I can’t wait until the next unit, it looks like so much fun!
