Our Lower Secondary Spanish homeschooling course (English National Curriculum Key Stage 3) is an ideal preparation for IGCSE Spanish studies.

Key elements of the course include grammar, vocabulary and linguistic competence in reading, writing and speaking, covering among other topics:

  • Food and drink, healthy diet, and food in the Spanish-speaking world
  • Sports and sports stars, celebrities, and musicians
  • My school; my pastimes; shopping, travel and going on holiday
  • Towns, houses, rooms, urban versus rural environments
  • Mexico City, Cuba, Guatemala, Equatorial Guinea and the Canary Islands
  • The media: internet social media, television and music
Lower Secondary course information

The syllabus and hours of study

  • Our Lower Secondary Spanish homeschooling course assumes no prior knowledge and starts from the basics.
  • The course follows the English National Curriculum for Key Stage 3 Spanish.
  • The course covers all four key language skills, listening, reading, writing and speaking.
  • Allow for up to 3 hours per week of study time for your child to complete each year of Lower Secondary Spanish plus additional time for completing assignments.
  • We find that most children can complete the course in 9 months.
