Our Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science homeschooling course will guide your child through the principles of Computer Science that will give your child the underpinning knowledge required for many other subjects in science and engineering.
Computer scientists theorise, design, develop, and apply the software and hardware for the programmes we use day in day out. Almost every aspect of society, from family-owned businesses needing digital protection to homeless shelters needing a way to streamline their volunteer base, relies on the innovations of the computer science industry.Apply Now
• The course will prepare your child for the (CAIE) Cambridge IGCSE Computer Science syllabus 0478.
• Before sitting your exam, your child will need to complete what is known as ‘pre-release material’ – effectively more programming exercises. The exam board sends this about 5 months before your exam (January for June exams; July for November exams). The exam centre with which your child is registered should send this material to you. It is VITAL that they complete it before the exam, as the paper will refer to it several times.
• The exam comprises two papers:
Paper 1: Theory: 1 hour and 45 minutes. 60% of total grade Paper 2: Problem Solving and Programming: 1 hour and 45 minutes. 40% of total grade.
• There are Cambridge exam centres in over 150 countries. We can provide details of the most convenient.
