Melanie Wright

Student Progress Manager

Melanie graduated from the Queen’s University of Belfast with a Zoology degree and PGCE and started off her career teaching in Secondary schools. However, a Master’s degree in Rural Development led to her subsequently working in many different areas of education: including lecturing at the University of Namibia; training government agricultural workers; and even working with young offenders on a Save The Children project.  She has lived and worked in eight different countries, most of them in Africa. A stint at language school in Paris has also given the whole family a love of French food, culture and scenery.

She has homeschooled her four children, taking them from Pre-school all the way through to IGCSEs and A levels. She understands the joys and challenges of home education and is passionate about helping families to succeed at home education.

Having recently returned to live in Northern Ireland, she misses the African sun and the outdoor lifestyle. She is happiest out horse riding or walking in a game reserve.
