I am a qualified secondary specialist Computer Science teacher ((British Computing Society BCS), QTS & PGCE) with 13 years teaching experience. I graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 1998 and I then worked in the IT industry for five years in London, initially for a central London fine art auctioneers and latterly in the IT European Projects team at a well-known recruitment company.
My first teaching role, following graduation from teacher training, was in Dorset on the South coast of England. Since then, my family and I have lived in the USA, Ascension Island, Stockholm, Sweden and Romania. Aside from a brief foray into commercial flight training in 2007, I have taught for 13 years since qualifying. I’ve worked in various British School settings from a high performance comprehensive to a high achieving independent boarding school, as well as at three International schools.
As a member and previous hub leader of the Computing at School group, I have established the new Computer Science curriculum at three schools and have been engaged as a computing consultant for the Nord Anglia school Budapest.
My diverse experience has helped me to become a versatile and dynamic educator, able to bring out the best in my students. I firmly believe in the opportunities that blended learning and homeschooling offers to students around the world, in allowing children from all backgrounds to receive a high quality education.
I am delighted to be engaged as a Tutor at Wolsey Hall Oxford and am very much looking forward to working with students and staff.
