I have been passionate about Maths for as long as I can remember. Growing up it was always my favourite subject closely followed by science. I love the satisfying feeling of solving a problem. As I progressed through school I realised that I wanted Maths to be a part of my future.
After my children were born I decided to put my enthusiasm for the subject to good use and become a teacher. I finished my Mathematics degree in 2014 and went straight on to gaining qualified teacher status the following year. I have taught in three secondary schools since I qualified and have worked with students in years 7-13. I currently teach part-time in an independent school teaching A Level Maths, Further Maths and IB Maths. I have spent many years tutoring students one on one. This has been a wonderful experience and I have loved building relationships with students and watching them succeed in their studies.
This year I have been studying from home myself to gain a certificate in Physics through the Open University. I plan to continue studying for pleasure for many years to come. Studying myself gives me a great understanding of the pressures that come with juggling learning and life. I think this enables me to be a compassionate and understanding teacher.
I have two children, and family time is very important to me. We love the great outdoors and keeping active. One of our favourite activities is bike riding. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and am a regular visitor to the local library.
I look forward to working with you and helping you build your Maths journey.
