I started my journey of supporting learning when I began working as a Teaching Assistant at the Primary school my children attended. I worked as a TA and later a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant for six years, which was when my love of teaching and supporting learning was truly cemented and I made the decision to commence teacher training.
My training towards becoming a qualified teacher started with studying a Degree in Supporting Learning which then led to studying a Primary PGCE through Canterbury Christ Church University.
Since qualifying I have enjoyed working in two Hampshire Primary schools. I believe that throughout your life you continue to learn something new every day. A need to learn about the world they live in comes so naturally to children and this inquisitiveness should be encouraged and nurtured as a child grows.
I have a fun and busy home life with my lovely family. My husband Mark works as a Sales Director, we have three teenage children, a Cocker Spaniel called Poppy who just loves her food, and a budgie called Ari who belongs to my youngest son. Our children are aged 20, 16 and 14. Our daughter Madde is the eldest and at Performing Arts college studying Musical Theatre, whilst our eldest son Ayden has just started his A Levels and wants to continue his studies to become an Architect. Our youngest son Luis is in Year 10, has a love of animals, is a fantastic gymnast and loves performing arts. Our family love singing and musicals so there is never a dull moment; we have even managed to convert my husband!
Helping children to find answers to their many questions, reach their full potential through providing enriching educational experiences and instilling a life-long curiosity and love of learning is the ultimate reward as a teacher. Being able to do this brings me joy every day.
I very much look forward to working with you and your family to achieve this.
