I have always loved learning, from reading books to the endless exploring of the fields behind my childhood home. This has continued into a lifelong love of learning.

My teaching experience began as a language assistant in rural Québec where I worked in four different schools. These would have to be some of the most beautiful locations for schools I have ever seen. After completing my degree, I continued my experience in France helping Primary aged children to learn English. I learnt so much and was so inspired by the teachers I worked with, that this launched my own training and career.

As a teacher, I have taught children from age 5 to 11 in Primary schools in Kent, UK. Over my 19-year teaching career, I have had various roles including being a Lead Teacher for Modern Foreign Languages in Primary schools, to supporting staff as part of the Senior Leadership Team.

I have always encouraged outdoor learning and have seen the benefits it can bring to children. I developed an outdoor classroom and woodland area setting and this continues to be a success enhancing the daily life of school.

Over the past few years, I have been leading music in a Lower Primary school where we have been using singing to improve the well-being of all and as a tool for learning. I have also been responsible for starting an annual egg challenge as part of the Design Technology curriculum! Alongside my teaching, I was an external marker for KS2 maths papers and have tutored individual students in preparation for the 11+ exams.

I live in Kent with my husband, daughter and son. When I am not teaching, I play netball and help to run a Brownie pack. I love the outdoor life and camping. I especially enjoy sitting around the campfire sharing stories.
