I have been helping people achieve their qualifications for over twenty years with great success. I have worked as a teacher and a lecturer in outstanding schools and colleges where providing a fun but challenging learning experience is central to achieving success. I have taught Business Studies at GCSE, BTEC and A Level and I always try to ensure they have fun achieving their qualifications.
I recently took retirement from my hectic days as a head of sixth form and I am now enjoying working with people as a distance learning tutor helping them achieve their goals.
I live at home with my wife, Sue, my son Richard and daughter Kirsty who have just completed their university courses and are creating exciting careers for themselves. We have a close family bond. When I’m not working, I love to get out into the fresh air and enjoy our wonderful countryside. I cycle and run, though this is getting tougher, but it keeps me fit and active. Sue and I love to do ballroom dancing and we try to go to events as often as possible: it is really great fun and you meet such nice people. Whenever we go on holiday I love to do karaoke, this drives my family mad. I like to sing ‘swing’ music; I also love jazz and a range of classical music. I play golf having taken this up four years ago, I’m not very good but I am improving, I really enjoy the company and exercise.
I follow my local Manchester football team and hope they do well but if they don’t there is always something else. I loved my schooldays; I made so many friends and was able to represent my school at athletics and cross country, going on to county level and running in the English Schools championships, which was the highlight of my career. I was always encouraged to work hard and read a lot and this proved to be sound advice as my working life developed.
I look forward to working with you over the coming months.
