The benefits of studying Primary History

Our Primary History homeschooling course covers the requirements of the Key Stage 2 English National Curriculum over 4 years.

History will fire your child’s curiosity about the past in Britain and the wider world. It plays an essential part in preparing children for living and working in today’s world. Throughout the course they will research, sift through evidence, and argue for their point of view – all skills that are valued in adult life.

This course will help your child to:

  • Gain an understanding of events, places and people in different times and environments
  • Develop an interest in the past and an appreciation of human achievements and aspirations
  • Understand how the past was different how people of other times and places had different values and attitudes
  • Develop the skills to interpret primary and secondary source material
  • Distinguish between historical facts and their interpretation

Once completed, our Primary History homeschooling course lays the foundations for children to transition smoothly to our Secondary History course.

Meet our Primary Level History Tutors

Anna Dombek, Homeschooling Parent, Poland

Year 6 of Primary Level History was fascinating, and Natalia has requested the book on Vikings to study in her free time. The History assignments were very creative, especially designing a time capsule and creating an Anglo-Saxon monster.
