My early career was based in the telecommunications sector working with multinational corporations. I then moved into the education sector and qualified as a Business and Economics teacher. My industrial experience has allowed me to contextualise learning and enhance the understanding of complex Business and Economic Theory.

I have been working in the education sector for over 20 years, gaining a wide range of experience within my subject areas, industry practice, business partnerships, and leadership positions within schools. I have successfully supported two schools in achieving business and enterprise specialist status throughout my time in schools. This was through the development of sustainable business partnerships in a wide range of subject areas, sponsorship from both national and local businesses and the development of Business courses throughout the school.

Studying Business and Economics provides learners with an excellent employment grounding and practical knowledge of the world around them. As a teacher of Business-related courses, I have always been amazed at the level of practical application and employment success learners have achieved. The knowledge and understanding developed in these courses supports routes into employment in many ways and helps prepare learners for the next steps in education or employment.

I take a high degree of pride in supporting all students in achieving the best possible outcomes. I believe that GCSE and A level courses in Business offer a high degree of academic and practical challenge and are exciting as the curriculum develops with live world events.

I have a keen interest in sport and outdoor activity and have a busy family life with three children. I very much look forward to working with you as a Tutor and believe that Business and Economics can be engaging, exciting and relevant topics of study for all students.
