Growing up, I always knew that I wanted to work with children. Having spent many of my teenage years baby-sitting, childminding and volunteering in a variety of schools, I came to realise that being a teacher was my calling.
I trained at Bishop Grosseteste University College in Lincoln and achieved a BA Hons degree in Primary Education with Qualified Teaching Status. Since completing my training, I have gained experience teaching in Early Years, and across Primary.
I am a committed, enthusiastic and supportive teacher who truly values a child-centred approach to learning. From my experience as both a teacher and a mother, I understand that each child is unique with different abilities, needs and interests. It is these individual qualities that need to be recognised and nurtured to enable each child to reach their full potential.
Outdoor learning is something that I have always been very passionate about. I recognise how valuable it is for children to have the opportunity to learn through hands-on experiences outside of the classroom. I believe that outdoor learning plays a key part in developing the whole child.
I have always been a keen dancer and sportswoman and enjoy supporting children with these activities at school. I love choreographing dance and gymnastics routines for children to perform and take great pleasure in helping children develop their skills across a wide variety of sports.
When I am not teaching, I love spending time outside with my two children exploring, investigating and learning from the natural world around us. I also enjoy cooking and am keen to try lots of interesting foods from around the world.
I am delighted to be joining Wolsey Hall as a Tutor and am excited to share my love of teaching and enthusiasm for learning with lots of children and their families.
