Homeschooling in Leeds

A Cambridge approved school

Since the pandemic began we have seen an increasing number of families homeschooling in Leeds and many other cities around the UK.

Many students discovered they preferred this flexible way of learning and decided to stick with homeschooling post lockdown. If you are considering homeschooling in Leeds but want a structured recognised education for your child, then Wolsey Hall Oxford might be the online school for you.

Founded in 1894, Wolsey Hall Oxford is one of the world’s most established homeschooling providers. We are the first Cambridge approved online Primary school and accredited to deliver Cambridge courses at Lower Secondary, IGCSE and A level too.

How our courses work

We don’t provide online lessons, instead students progress through our courses at their own pace, using a combination of textbooks, online resources and materials. Our Tutors are always available via email to answer questions if students are finding something difficult. As your child sets their own pace of learning this ensures concepts are fully embedded before moving on. There is no pressure to complete modules in a certain time. Equally, for those students who are quicker to learn, the pace of study may be faster and can see them studying at a higher level. It depends on ability rather than their age.

Highly qualified Tutors

All of our Tutors hold a UK teaching qualification and have many years’ experience of teaching. Each Tutor is passionate about their specialist subject and keen to pass this passion on to their students. Our online learning platform, Canvas, is used to access modules and submit assignments. It is through this system that students also read the thorough and positive feedback provided by Tutors.

I’m so chuffed that my daughter Jessie has done so well in her IGCSE German exam, especially as the other people taking the exam and the exam centre were native German speakers! She also did very well in her Maths IGCSE. It has been amazing to be able to study for exams out of school…very liberating. The Tutors and the admin team are all wonderful. Big thankyou to Wolsey Hall Oxford for all your help!

I would recommend Wolsey Hall Oxford to anyone considering homeschooling. Each course has plenty of resources on canvas and the course books are very informative. Any questions or help that we needed (preparing and arranging exams etc) have always been dealt with by the friendly tutors and student progress manager. My daughter achieved excellent IGCSE results and is now taking an A Level course.

My son James was homeschooled and we chose Wolsey Hall to support him. The learning material was clear and concise and he was buoyed by the knowledge that support was only an email away. They say that the proof of the pudding is in the eating. Well, James did a clean sweep of A* and A’s. Job done. Thanks Wolsey Hall.

Wolsey Hall provided me exactly with what I needed at the time – a flexible, accessible way to study for my IGCSEs. Their Tutors are excellent and were quick to provide thorough and constructive feedback on my assignments, as well as supplying me with important advice and resources on exam technique, ensuring that I was as prepared as possible. I am very pleased with my IGCSE grades – four of which are A*s, then an A and a B. They allowed me to go on to study A Levels, which I would not be doing right now had I not found Wolsey Hall. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a flexible way to study and is perhaps unable to attend a public or private school, or simply wants to ensure a quality learning experience, and is capable of mostly self-motivated learning with the aid of Tutor feedback and online resources.
