Exceptional Homeschooling with Engaging, Hands-On Learning
Our experience with this homeschooling college has been outstanding. My child is currently studying English, Maths, Science, and English Speaking & Listening, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed with the well-structured curricula that cover a broad yet balanced range of material. The lessons have helped my child progress significantly in phonics, reading, writing, number skills, and verbal communication. The science curriculum goes beyond textbooks to promote hands-on learning through simple age-appropriate experiments and outdoors activities. Quick response, excellence in tutoring
We found Wolsey Hall administration always quick to respond to queries and generally very helpful. As a student my daughter found both her tutor, Emma Conroy and student progress manager, Emma Tanaka, excellent. In the tutoring of History, her chosen subject, there was always constructive and timeous feedback. A wonderful experience
I studied my IGCSE’s with Wolsey hall, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My familial situation made me the only one in charge of my studies, and all of my teachers made me motivated to work hard towards my goals, and actually enjoy learning. Especially as I was coming from the education curriculum from America, and didn’t quite have the same background as most people who start their IGCSE’s. All of my teachers were extremely helpful, especially my SPM (student progress manager) Laura Devanny, my biology teacher, Paul Hanlon, chemistry teacher, Ruth Cunliffe, and physics teacher, Mark Harding, were so supportive and always willing to give extra help and advice for exams. They really made such a difference to me. My geography teacher was always so kind and made me super excited to pick up my textbook. My English teacher genuinely made me enjoy the subject…which is no easy feat as it was never something I had previously been a fan of. (science is more my cup of tea). My math teacher gave me so many extra resources and was always there to help. She really made me enjoy learning math and I ended up studying math in my free time (I know, crazy) but seriously! My Spanish and Latin teachers were both so amazing at their job. You can really tell that they are passionate and love what they do, which really rubs off on you. All the classes are structured in very logical ways, which made learning a stress free experience while also covering the entire syllabi. I really appreciate how each assignment was basically treated as a practice exam, which gets you acquainted to exam style questions and allows you to see where you need to spend extra time on. All of my teachers critique was genuinely helpful and I really appreciated how they also recognized and pointed out things you were doing well on. I also really appreciated how they didn’t just expect you to understand from textbook alone. They give you so many extra resources like review notes, videos, etc. I really enjoyed the videos and review notes in particular because they made things more digestible, which came in super handy when revising! Overall, I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and I look forward to continuing my studies with Wolsey hall. Much thanks to everyone who helped me and gave me their time and support.

The course work is well laid out and the tutors and student manager are very helpful and understanding as we we move between countries a lot they have personalised schedules which are fantastic for our lifestyle. We had a very positive experience with Wolsey.
Firstly a huge thank you to our Student Progress Manager, Claire, who was absolutely fantastic. A real asset to Wolsey. She did a brilliant job keeping us informed, ironing out any difficulties, helping us and quite frankly made the whole experience stress-free and enjoyable. Our tutors, Paula, Lyndsay and Penelope were brilliant and the lessons exciting and appropriate. The negatives were the rising fees, lack of alternatives for those pupils unable to sit GCSEs and the sheer volume of printing and uploading which needs to be done. Other than that I really can't fault the school, it does an amazing job and we will be using it again once our youngest leaves Primary. From my experience I would recomend without hestitation. A brilliant option for those wishing to homeschool!
The team at Wolsey Hall Oxford has been fantastic! My daughter completed both Year 1 and Year 2 with them, and throughout the experience, I found the lesson plans to be incredibly easy to follow and full of creative teaching ideas. This was especially helpful for someone like me, who isn’t a trained teacher. The team has been very supportive and accommodating, allowing flexibility for breaks and holidays, as well as when we wanted to progress through the curriculum more quickly. Great Educational Bridge
When moving from one country to another, one of the most challenging tasks was to ensure continuity in schooling for our 12-year-old daughter. Wolsey Hall provided the best solution at a reasonable cost. The enrolment process was smooth. We chose seven courses, before being introduced to their respective tutors. All of them were really friendly, helpful and encouraging. What impressed me most was the detailed feedback provided for each assignment. Student Progress Manager Daisy Datson, who was overseeing our daughter's performance, gave us regular updates and messages of support. We stopped online home schooling after completing our move from the Philippines to Scotland. Thanks to Wolsey Hall for helping with the move!

I'm Tejjas, an A Level student who sat the 2024 May/June A Level exams. My experience with Wolsey Hall Oxford was wonderful and I'm so happy that I decided to enrol. Courses were well organised on Canvas and flowed logically. The materials linked were useful and helped to provide a broader range of perspectives and approaches to problems or concepts. I would also recommend that other students look for materials beyond what is provided on Canvas to further their understanding if they so wish. Tutors were friendly and helpful when asked questions, and would usually respond within 48 hours. Thank you Mr Bahia, Mr Wardle, and Mrs Carpinato. Assignments were also good and feedback was useful. What was particularly good was that I felt that assignments were graded as they would be in the exams, meaning very strictly. This encouraged me to learn proper exam technique and not gloss over details that may otherwise seem trivial. This is especially helpful for essay subjects where students may mark themselves too leniently since the Cambridge-provided mark-schemes have some ambiguity. My SPM, Ms Helena Cantone, was also supportive and understanding when I missed deadlines occasionally due to personal matters. She would check in monthly to ask how I was doing and offer help, which helped to keep me motivated. I'm also very thankful to the university counsellor, Ms Sarah Wilson, for her advice and support with my UCAS application. With her referral letter and general advice on my application, I secured 5/5 offers from universities including the LSE, Warwick, and KCL. I achieved A*A*A* and hence converted my LSE offer. Overall, these 2 years with Wolsey Hall Oxford have been incredible thanks to the wonderful people involved, and I will look back on them with great fondness. Tejjas

A really positive learning experience

Wolsey Hall Oxford has been a fantastic experience for my daughters. They did one year in primary during COVID, and my eldest daughter re-enrolled in Year 9. She found studying independently and at her own pace more constructive. She has also acquired many skills that have assisted her learning. The resources provided are varied and abundant and the tutors are professional and competent. Our Student Progress Manager was extremely supportive and continued to motivate my daughter throughout the year. We will be continuing with Wolsey Hall Oxford for the IGSCE courses. As a mum
As a mum, I wish I found it sooner and rest assured all my off line comments are 5 stars too. Since the beginning one year ago, I felt listened to and supported. My kids loved it and felt at ease, comfortable and supported too by the detailed comments on their assignments, their mid reviews and the fast response when they had doubts. It doesn't mean all is easy and fun, they had to work (something that in my opinion was missing in the school they attended before) and be very much into management of time and resources. The teachers and family support are friendly, encouraging, communication is fast and reliable. I would choose it again.

A life without Wolsey Hall, I cannot imagine!
We have had a great experience with Wolsey Hall. Both of my children's lives and our lives are richer for the homeschooling experience with them. We love our teachers. The support we receive is incomparable and on a very personal level. They get to know the child at the heart. Having spent a few years in the "traditional" school environment, we feel that Wolsey Hall opened our eyes to a whole new type of education. We pay a huge amount of money in Zimbabwe for Private Education. That education has collapsed, it has become more about the money than actually educating our children, I am so grateful every day for Wolsey Hall. They have provided our children with a holistic whole rounded education that no school in Zimbabwe can give.

Elective Home Educating with Wolsey Hall Oxford
We have been elective home educating since November 2023 and the change in our daughter’s mental health has been amazing. We chose WH for online learning (year 7) and do not regret that decision at all. We have found the structure of the lessons; a mixture of textbook and interactive learning together with the assignment schedule is just what our daughter needs. Laura Hobley, our Student Progress Manager is extremely helpful with answering any queries we have and regularly gets in touch with our daughter to support her studies. All of the tutors have been extremely friendly and helpful and our daughter has found their feedback very encouraging and adds validation to her studies. Excellent well established online school
When we were looking for a UK government approved home school for our daughter aged 15 Wolsey Hall oxford stood out to us from the start being one of the most experienced online home schools it made it a reassuring logical choice when our daughter changed from attending a physical school at the start of year 10. From our initial information zoom call we were really impressed with the online learning platform canvas and the range of GCSEs and the whole ethos and set up of the online school seemed quite straightforward and easy to use, when we signed up for our daughters GCSEs courses each subject course book arrived with us so fast then we all had some time to navigate and get used to canvas the online learning platform our daughter picked it up fast next we all met with her assigned student support manager Erica who has been a wonderful support to our daughter and to us too we all can contact Erica and she keeps in regular contact with our daughter having a super friendly point of contact like Erica with whom we can communicate with so easily has been so helpful in our home schooling journey she helps my daughter with extensions for assignments if she is struggling and she really encourages our daughter with positive and constructive feedback which really helps her mindset. The subject tutors are easy to reach if you have any questions you just feel less alone with Wolsey hall my daughter has become such an independent learner and is now so organised and is learning that reaching out for help is something she can now do without feeling so worried or anxious as Erica and all the tutors have been so kind and reassuring to her she wants to do her best and a huge weight has been lifted off her shoulders since she started at Wolsey hall oxford our daughter is so much happier and is far less anxious I'm so grateful to Wolsey hall for all the help and support they constantly provide my daughter is actually now looking forward to subjects she once disliked at school and is enjoying her Igcses and different subject challenges and it is so very wonderful to see her passionate and so engaged in her learning again thank you wolsey hall for making this transition to online learning so straightforward for us all

Best decision I ever make
It's Menassa 3rd year with Wolsey and doing homeschooling. After the Covid it has been the best decision we made. She loves so much and it has been a life changing. Great first year for my daughter

Great for Adult Learners too!
My experience with Wolsey Hall has been exceptional so far and has enabled me, with the gentle guidance of my student progress manager, Pat Edwards, and tutors, to achieve results that I never thought possible before. I had a bad time at school for various reasons and was incredibly anxious about re-entering education. My confidence had been entirely stripped after leaving school with relatively poor results. However, since enrolling with Wolsey Hall I have achieved three 9's so far in English, Biology and Chemistry iGCSE's. I have also taken a further three in Physics, English Literature and Latin, which I am currently enjoying, and have enjoyed all so far, with the straight forward and well thought out courses. I especially prefer the fact we get physical textbooks, as many other places only offer the online platform. I am also hopefully thinking of continuing to do A levels here as well, with the ultimate aim of going to study at university (I have recently used the university advise option available, which again was extremely helpful and comforting to know there are people who can help guide you through the daunting process.) All my tutors have been great and extremely helpful as well- my first tutor Robyn really helped me believe in myself, as I never had much confidence in my writing abilities (believing I was more of a "maths person"), but it just goes to show with the right help and learning environment you are capable of much more. So I will always be grateful to Robyn and all my tutors. I'm also quite socially anxious and they have all been very understanding and never made me feel any embarrassment. In fact the opposite, I have only felt encouragement and acceptance from everyone. They offer support and help for all sorts of issues, which is in my opinion extremely important, as I know how damaging school environments can be. I never thought I would get the opportunity to have a second chance in this way, and in doing so, it has given me confidence and opened up possibilities that I feared I had lost. As an adult learner it is quite easy to feel daunted and overwhelmed with the notion of starting over, but you are never alone, and so long as you are ready to try, everyone is with you all the way.

We live in Saudi Arabia and my son was going to normal school. But once the pandemic struck, we were lost how to go about things because the online classes were not up to the mark. The focus in school was to finish the curriculum regardless if the child understands anything or not. The teachers in normal school weren’t that supportive neither qualified to cater the needs of the children or even the Cambridge curriculum. My friend offered me to look into Wolsey Hall and explained to me how brilliant and smooth her journey has been with them. The teachers reviews, their positivity and how they uplift the kids is beyond words can say. The curriculum is also where I am highly impressed by for example in geography they are already teaching ethics and sustainability of business apart from general geography topics and how can you create your own business from it. My son absolutely enjoys each and every subject and can’t wait each month to get a response to his assignments. I have enrolled my second son as well in grade 2 and I already see a difference in a years’ time. There are numerous experiments to be carried out in science; maths has a fun of teaching; English has grammar and is loaded with creativity stories to write. It has been 2 years since we started Wolsey and it has been the best decision so far for us as a family. From their support team to teacher everything is brillant. In all, both my kids enjoy the homeschooling experience and neither would want to go back to mainstream schooling.

The great home schooling experience
My 2 children are studying in the Wolsey Hall Oxford and just completed Grade 4 and Grade 6. I really like the school’s approach: first, based on the test results they recommended to join classes not according to the age, but according to my kids’ knowledge. I really like the school curriculum and opportunity to choose subjects, no pressure approach. Rebecca, our tutor, was always responsive, helpful with any technical issues we met, supportive. The school also has clubs, so my children are not only studying, but also developing their creative part.

We love Wolsey Hall
We, as a family love homeschooling with Wolsey Hall, we have been homeschooling for 2 years going on 3 this year and we are very happy! We started on year 4 and year 1 and we are now busy with year 6 and year 3. We enjoy the work,lessons and challenges that Wolsey Hall offers, and we have become so used to the structure and routines it just makes life so much easier! High quality education - adorable staff
High quality education, my children have improved a lot. I'm happy to be part of Wolsey Hall family. My younger dauther joined 3 years ago, she wasn't able to read or write, and for her was so difficult coming from a Spanish speaking country - now she's showing a huge improvement. My kids love the Clubs - there are so many activities for them. The staff is very helpful, giving accurate answers on time. I do suggest to keep closer contact with the kids. Sometimes they would like to say at least hello through the webcam ;-) it makes feel more comfortable. The online learning platform used by WH is friendly and easy to use.

Using the homeschooling system allows adolescents to develop a sense of orderliness, perseverance, patience and importance of achievement. The way the system works is very clear, efficient and straightforward with many resources provided. Tutors are very helpful, always giving inspiring compliments as well as advising on how to improve and where to focus attention. Wolsey Hall gave our daughter a unique opportunity to study AS and A levels while living in France. We are very grateful for the invaluable help we received from all the team. The synergy of hard work and support produced exceptionally great results: our daughter was accepted to one of the best universities.
