Canvas
Our easy-to-use student learning platform, Canvas, gives your child instant access to everything they need for each of their courses. It’s where they’ll find all their learning materials and resources, and where they can upload assignments, find out their grades, and receive feedback and messages from their course Tutors. You’ll also have parent ‘Observer’ access whilst your child is studying with us, so you can follow their progress and achievements.
How it works
Designed to support a high-quality education away from the classroom, Canvas, our student learning platform, makes it easy for your child to find their course modules, materials and assignments. They can ask their Tutor a question and receive feedback and grades for their assignments, which they also submit through the platform. It helps them stay organised, clearly listing the work they need to do next so that they can work efficiently through their course materials.
Each time new resources are uploaded for your child’s studies, you’ll receive an announcement through this platform. These notifications will inform you and your child of important information about their courses, new courses launched or details of community events, such as a Wolsey Hall competition. You’ll also both receive notifications when Tutors leave feedback on assignments.
Using our platform as a parent
As a parent, you can follow your child’s learning with your own Observer account. This lets you engage in your child’s studies with us, so you can see how they’re progressing and access all their grades, assignments, deadlines, announcements and course materials. This enables you to support your child’s education and offer them encouragement, guidance and help, whenever they need it. Your Observer account also allows you to work with your dedicated Student Progress Manager to create a more informed and supportive learning experience for your child, helping them unleash their potential.

An Excellent Homeschooling Experience!

Thank you Wolsey Hall Oxford
I'm Tejjas, an A Level student who sat the 2024 May/June A Level exams. My experience with Wolsey Hall Oxford was wonderful and I'm so happy that I decided to enrol. Courses were well organised on Canvas and flowed logically. The materials linked were useful and helped to provide a broader range of perspectives and approaches to problems or concepts. I would also recommend that other students look for materials beyond what is provided on Canvas to further their understanding if they so wish. Tutors were friendly and helpful when asked questions, and would usually respond within 48 hours. Thank you Mr Bahia, Mr Wardle, and Mrs Carpinato. Assignments were also good and feedback was useful. What was particularly good was that I felt that assignments were graded as they would be in the exams, meaning very strictly. This encouraged me to learn proper exam technique and not gloss over details that may otherwise seem trivial. This is especially helpful for essay subjects where students may mark themselves too leniently since the Cambridge-provided mark-schemes have some ambiguity. My SPM, Ms Helena Cantone, was also supportive and understanding when I missed deadlines occasionally due to personal matters. She would check in monthly to ask how I was doing and offer help, which helped to keep me motivated. I'm also very thankful to the university counsellor, Ms Sarah Wilson, for her advice and support with my UCAS application. With her referral letter and general advice on my application, I secured 5/5 offers from universities including the LSE, Warwick, and KCL. I achieved A*A*A* and hence converted my LSE offer. Overall, these 2 years with Wolsey Hall Oxford have been incredible thanks to the wonderful people involved, and I will look back on them with great fondness. Tejjas

A student’s experience with Wolsey Hall
I have been student at Wolsey Hall, for just about 5 years now. I did my IGCSE and A Levels with them, and now graduating soon. I am pleased to say that I’ve had the most amazing experience with them! Wolsey Hall provides each student with a the flexibility to balance a healthy school life, whiles still helping them stay in task (through the specially designed course schedules, catered by your SPM). The teachers at Wolsey, have been nothing less than incredible, with them always willing to help in any ways you need. They leave detailed annotations and feedbacks of every submitted piece of work - making sure to point out the pros as well as the cons. The courses on Canvas are all specially designed and embellished with a wide range of resource, such as links, YouTube videos and extra reading (if needs be). And if you still find yourself needing more guidance, they are always an email away. I am forever grateful for the amazing staff at Wolsey Hall, as they have supported me through my studies, and pushed me to believe in my academic capabilities in a way I never did before - truly hero’s! Wolsey Hall also provides the students with the ability to use their platform to connect socially, with other like-minded homeschoolers around the world - with their Forum space (which coincidentally, happened to be how I met one of my closest friends), as well as their clubs! They have engaging community spaces, as well as competitions, with one of my favorite ones being the Art and Creative Writing competitions! They also provide access to an assortment of different books through their virtual library, which allows the books to be taken out on loan. Alas, I have not gotten the chance to use this recourse as I would have wanted, but that never stopped me from browsing for hours on end! And lastly, I just wanted to thank the Teachers, as well as my SPM, as they have proven to be a great help in my academics, and an incredibly important part of my high school experience. I’ve had the privilege to work with the sweetest and most understanding individuals. I could not possibly have asked for better. In fact, I will miss them all so very much! If you were to take anything from this today, let it be this. Wolsey Hall has been a huge part in helping me grow, and has shaped me, not only as a student, but also as a person. Excellent well established online school
When we were looking for a UK government approved home school for our daughter aged 15 Wolsey Hall oxford stood out to us from the start being one of the most experienced online home schools it made it a reassuring logical choice when our daughter changed from attending a physical school at the start of year 10. From our initial information zoom call we were really impressed with the online learning platform canvas and the range of GCSEs and the whole ethos and set up of the online school seemed quite straightforward and easy to use, when we signed up for our daughters GCSEs courses each subject course book arrived with us so fast then we all had some time to navigate and get used to canvas the online learning platform our daughter picked it up fast next we all met with her assigned student support manager Erica who has been a wonderful support to our daughter and to us too we all can contact Erica and she keeps in regular contact with our daughter having a super friendly point of contact like Erica with whom we can communicate with so easily has been so helpful in our home schooling journey she helps my daughter with extensions for assignments if she is struggling and she really encourages our daughter with positive and constructive feedback which really helps her mindset. The subject tutors are easy to reach if you have any questions you just feel less alone with Wolsey hall my daughter has become such an independent learner and is now so organised and is learning that reaching out for help is something she can now do without feeling so worried or anxious as Erica and all the tutors have been so kind and reassuring to her she wants to do her best and a huge weight has been lifted off her shoulders since she started at Wolsey hall oxford our daughter is so much happier and is far less anxious I'm so grateful to Wolsey hall for all the help and support they constantly provide my daughter is actually now looking forward to subjects she once disliked at school and is enjoying her Igcses and different subject challenges and it is so very wonderful to see her passionate and so engaged in her learning again thank you wolsey hall for making this transition to online learning so straightforward for us all
