Introduction

At Wolsey Hall Oxford, our Lower Primary homeschooling courses are designed for children aged 4 to 7 – typically aligning with Foundation Stage, Year 1 and Year 2 in the UK system. But we know that every child develops at their own pace, so we focus on ability rather than age to ensure they start learning at the level that’s right for them. 

This is often a child’s first experience of formal learning, so our courses are carefully designed to nurture early literacy, numeracy and curiosity – with plenty of opportunities for creativity, play and exploration. You’ll be closely involved in guiding their daily learning, with all the support you need to feel confident in your role. 

Each subject follows the English National Curriculum and the Cambridge Primary Curriculum, delivered through our secure online learning platform using a mix of interactive materials, textbooks and offline activities. With regular assignments and feedback from UK-qualified Tutors, plus guidance from a dedicated Student Progress Manager, your child will be supported every step of the way.

  • A brilliant option for those wishing to homeschool!

    The team at Wolsey Hall Oxford has been fantastic! My daughter completed both Year 1 and Year 2 with them, and throughout the experience, I found the lesson plans to be incredibly easy to follow and full of creative teaching ideas. This was especially helpful for someone like me, who isn’t a trained teacher. The team has been very supportive and accommodating, allowing flexibility for breaks and holidays, as well as when we wanted to progress through the curriculum more quickly. Feedback on assignments was always prompt, and Jane and Cathe were nothing short of marvellous! I highly recommend Wolsey Hall Oxford to anyone looking for a homeschool experience that sets their child up for success!

  • Relaxed learning

    My son, Bilal, who is turning 11 years old, started home schooling with Wolsey 3 years ago(Year3). We are so happy and content with the support we receive from the SPMs and the tutors. We have now been able to perfect a learning system for Bilal. He has been able to catch up his Math course which we started a year behind(Year 2) in comparison with the other subjects. Bilal's elder brother, Omar is also home schooling with Wolsey from year 8 and is now in his IGCSE years. Like Bilal, he started off German a year behind(Year 7) and has been able to catch up with the other subjects. We are looking forward to a bright and, more importantly, a relaxed learning experience with Wolsey.

  • Outstanding!

    I highly recommend Wolsey Hall. I am a Primary School teacher and was hired as a private tutor for a 7 y.o boy. The content is of high quality and the course is incredibly well structured. The platform is user friendly and the lesson plans very easy to follow. There is a large amount of available resources, for extra curricular activities as well. Even though it’s an online school, you really feel supported and part of a community. The tutors are extremely helpful, easily reachable and the feedback they give is the reflection of the attention and care they demonstrate to each student.

  • The Best Decision !!!

    Due to Covid rules during the school year my husband and I made the decision to homeschool our daughter. I didn’t know what to expect or how things would pan out but it was one of the best decisions. Our daughter had one on one learning and it has helped her tremendously with her confidence and her ability to work independently. She has progressed so beautifully in her studies and has made all of us extremely proud. She just finished her Year 2 curriculum and moving on to Year 3. If you are thinking about homeschooling, it is a great option for your family. You bond with your child and make sure that they learn at their own pace and that they have the confidence in themselves. It also comes with the added perk that you can do everything on your own time and can travel with ease.
