Homeschooling in Birmingham

Homeschooling courses for ages 5 – 18

Since the pandemic began, Wolsey Hall Oxford has welcomed a growing number of families homeschooling in Birmingham, in the UK. Many of these families chose to continue homeschooling after the lockdown lifted as their child preferred this way of education where they set the pace of learning.

Our students are both British nationals and expat children whose families are looking for an international curriculum which is recognised by universities and employers around the world. Our courses are designed to be engaging while academically rigorous, and aim to help our students become independent learners.

We are Cambridge approved for providing courses for Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE and A level.

Top UK Tutors

We have an extensive team of experienced Tutors who all hold UK recognised teaching qualifications.

Students homeschooling in Birmingham work through their modules independently using our online learning platform, Canvas. Our Tutors then provide detailed and constructive feedback through Canvas on their assignments. Students can contact their Tutors via email at any point if they require additional advice or guidance.

Flexible learning

Our courses do not include any lessons so students progress through modules at their own pace. This ensures that learning is fully embedded before moving on, rather than needing to keep up with others. It also gives students homeschooling in Birmingham the opportunity to schedule their studies around other commitments.

Many parents appreciate this flexible approach as it allows their child time to develop other interests and experiences to become well-rounded individuals.

I’ve done it, I’ve gotten in to university, and Edinburgh University, no less! Thank you so very much for your help in preparing my application. I really and truly could not have done this without you, and I wanted to let you know that all your work to help me has borne university-shaped fruit. I am extremely excited, and VERY busy getting ready as I move very soon. Thank you! Joel Roderick helped Annelise with her application to Edinburgh University.

Our children (almost 13 and 11) have been students of Wolsey Hall Oxford since 2017. Every year we achieve the perfect balance of flexibility and academic excellence. Our Student Progress Manager works closely with us tailoring the education of our children month by month, something that could never be achieved in any other type of schooling. The tutors for each subject are always available to answer questions and mark promptly the monthly assignments, which follow the National Curriculum to the highest possible standards. The wider support team of Wolsey Hall is also very responsive and we enjoy the option of joining other students in after-school clubs and activities that create as much of a school community life as one would like to get involved in.

I’m so chuffed that my daughter Jessie has done so well in her IGCSE German exam, especially as the other people taking the exam and the exam centre were native German speakers! She also did very well in her Maths IGCSE. It has been amazing to be able to study for exams out of school…very liberating. The Tutors and the admin team are all wonderful. Big thankyou to Wolsey Hall Oxford for all your help!
