Our Student Progress Managers

We know that making the shift to homeschooling can be scary, and you may feel like you’re starting out on this journey all on your own. That’s why all our families have their very own Student Progress Manager (SPM), who acts as their constant companion throughout their time with us – so you always have someone to connect with if you need help or advice.

Whilst our Tutors provide feedback on your child's assignment work, your Student Progress Manager will support you and your child with all the non-academic aspects of their education, to make your homeschooling experience as simple and smooth as possible. They’re like your child’s form tutor: helping you organise their assignment schedules, stay on top of their progress, celebrate their successes, and access additional support if you or your child need it. The difference is, they’re only an email away, and are always available to offer advice, guidance and information on all things Wolsey Hall Oxford – meaning you can spend more time focusing on supporting your child’s studies.

From the day you enrol, your Student Progress Manager will work in partnership with you to help your child unleash their full potential, so you can make the most of your time with our global school community.

The role of a Student Progress Manager

Much like your child’s studies, the support your Student Progress Manager offers during your time with us is as flexible as you need it to be. You may find you need quite a lot of help with staying on top of your child’s homeschooling, or you might be able to handle it independently with minimal input – but your SPM will offer a supportive shoulder to lean on if you encounter any issues or challenges along the way.

When you first enrol with us, your SPM will take the time to get to know you, your child, and your unique circumstances, so they understand how best they can support your family. With the information you provide, they’ll help you organise your child’s assignment schedule – taking into account any breaks or holidays you need to factor in, and how long your child needs to complete each of their courses. They’ll keep a track of how your child is progressing with their schedule, and prompt you if there are any issues with assignment deadlines to help you stay on top of everything.

They can also offer ongoing advice and guidance with any queries or challenges you may have, whether it’s a small technical problem or a wider wellbeing concern where your child needs some extra support. It could be that you want help finding an exam centre, want to adjust your child’s schedule to fit around other commitments, or need some advice on anxiety or SEND issues. Whatever you’re looking for, your SPM will help you find a solution that works for you and your child, so they can excel in their studies.

Getting to know your SPM

STEP 1

Welcome email

Your child will receive a welcome email from their SPM with important next steps and useful information. The email will include an assignment schedule with personalised due dates, taking into account any holidays you’ve shared and revision time for GCSE Level and A Level courses.

STEP 2

Introduction call

About a week after enrolment, your SPM will arrange a Microsoft Teams call with you and your child. This call gives you a chance to meet your SPM, ensure everything is going smoothly, ask any questions and discuss any extra support needed. If your child is under 16, a parent or guardian should be present.

STEP 3

Ongoing support

Your SPM will be on hand throughout your child's studies to provide support with any questions, issues or challenges you may experience. You can get in touch with them for help and advice at any time – it's that simple!
