Melissa Baines

Student Progress Manager

Melissa graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Science and Education from the University of Newcastle, Australia. She then gained her Masters in Education from Anglia Ruskin University in the UK. Melissa has over 20 years’ experience teaching high school Science in a variety of settings in both Australia and the UK.

Due to the pandemic and the need to shield and then homeschool her son, who has a complex congenital heart defect, Melissa found a passion for Primary education. To read to your child is wonderful, but to see a child learn to read and read to you is magical. To also develop their writing skills is amazing.

Outside of work, Melissa is a keen runner – having completed the London Marathon twice, for charities which she loved fundraising for. She has two children, so they love getting out and about to their local wood, farm, or beach for fun.
