Homeschooling in Penang

A high-quality recognised education

We are delighted to welcome a growing number of families who have decided that homeschooling in Penang is the right choice for their children.

The Malaysian education system offers numerous options within public, private and international schools but homeschooling is also a recognised and flexible option for Penang nationals as well as ex-pats.

Whether your child is starting at Primary level or moving through to Lower Secondary, IGCSE or A level we have a wide range of subjects to choose from. For families homeschooling in Penang you may be reassured to know that we develop independent learners where students will learn to question and evaluate what they are taught. All of our courses are not only academically rigorous but provide a stimulating and engaging learning experience.

Our Cambridge courses are known as the ‘gold standard’ of British education and are recognised by universities worldwide, so your child will have good options to choose from in the future. Our University Advice Service can help as your child moves to that next stage of their education.

Qualified and experienced Tutors

Our large team of experienced Tutors all hold UK recognised teaching qualifications and have many years teaching experience. We don’t provide online lessons, instead students work through their courses independently using our online learning platform, CanvasIn each module they regularly submit assignments and our Tutors provide detailed and constructive feedback. This enables students to see where they can make improvements and the areas where they are excelling. Tutors are available via email throughout their course if students need any additional assistance.

Flexibility

Students progress through our courses at their own pace. If your child is a quick learner or gifted in a particular subject, they can accelerate to a higher level than their age would suggest. Equally, if your child is finding some modules difficult, there in no pressure to hurry through them, instead spending time to ensure the concepts are fully understood before moving on.

Our flexible courses give students the opportunity to fit in other interests and commitments around their studies. We have many elite athletes and performing artists studying with us for this reason.

I appreciate the fact that the needs of my childrens’ learning experience are a priority at Wolsey Hall. The course materials are well designed; staff are committed to homeschooling and my children can study at a pace which suits them.

I compared several homeschooling providers and although all charge similar fees (some even slightly lower!) I decided on Wolsey Hall Oxford because I felt confident about the help and care my daughter would receive. The support we receive is excellent. I would recommend Wolsey Hall to parents who care, not only about grades, but about the study experience as a whole. Students receive the respect they deserve and they get the encouragement to move forward despite sometimes having difficulties.

Wolsey Hall provides the flexibility both in time and schedule for my child and me. We are free to Skype the teachers when we need clarification. The subjects are structured and orderly. The assignment based ‘homework/testing’ provides the child with the required written work needed for understanding of the subject matter. Nathalia is 11 years old and she’s doing Maths, Science, English and Geography.
