IGCSE Latin

Why study Cambridge IGCSE Latin

Your child will enjoy the challenges that our Cambridge IGCSE Latin homeschooling course offers:

  • exercising the memory when learning vocabulary
  • finding connections between Latin words and English, French and Spanish
  • using their analytical skills when looking for the sense of a sentence in Latin
  • expanding their vocabulary and improving their understanding of the English Language.

It’s not only linguists who benefit from learning Latin, however, but also those who want to become lawyers, doctors, diplomats, civil servants, historians, entrepreneurs and business people – indeed, anyone who likes using his or her brain.

Your child will learn about the lifestyle, duties and pastimes of a Roman citizen, as well as about the culture and legacy of the Roman Empire. There is no better way of unlocking the past and using your imagination and creativity.

I am glad I did IGCSE Latin because it helped me with my A Level Classical Civilisation course. Thank you for your support and assistance, I really appreciate it. Wolsey Hall Oxford is the best distance learning course I’ve been on because of the support from friendly people like you. It’s been brilliant.

The Latin course at Wolsey Hall Oxford was run extremely well with lots of learning aids. Jo Lashly as my Tutor could not have been better. Her turnaround on marking was astonishingly quick by any measure but even more so when the extensive comments and advice she added are considered. I am looking forward to going on to study the A Level.
