Welcome to the Wolsey Hall Oxford ‘Wall of Fame’. An area of our website dedicated to celebrating the success and further aspirations of our recent past pupils.

Sanjana is homeschooling in India and striving for academic excellence

Sanjana – University of Warwick

“Studying through Wolsey Hall Oxford has allowed Sanjana to concentrate exclusively on her studies and devote maximum time to academics which would not have been possible had she attended a regular school. Wolsey Hall Oxford provides high-quality study material and the feedback given by Wolsey Hall Oxford tutors is extremely helpful to the student in understanding how to answer questions in the A-Levels examinations. “Lucy’s interest in Business developed during her time at WH as she studied it at IGCSE and then A Level. When she discovered she could study Business with a language at university she was excited. Studying with WH was great preparation for university as she learned self discipline, how to manage her time and how to study more independently.”

Ariana – University of Oxford

After completing her studies Ariana hopes to become an Archivist. She had this to say about her experience of homeschooling with Wolsey Hall, “As my school didn’t offer any GCSE or A Levels in either Latin or Ancient History, studying through Wolsey Hall helped me to find out whether studying Latin at University would be the right choice. I also believe that studying with Wolsey Hall gave me an opportunity to have a basis in Latin which helped with my application to the University of Oxford.”

“Studying through Wolsey Hall allowed them to get a good education while living in the remote jungle, inspiring a passion for the environment and knowledge in general. They hope to become a civil servant and, eventually, an author.”

Roman – FernUni Switzerland

Roman enjoyed his time studying with Wolsey Hall and commented “Wolsey Hall allowed me to follow up lifelong studying. I am now working as a Solution Architect.” Roman studied at Fern University in Hagen, Germany. As a Solution Architect he evaluates specific needs that businesses may have and builds computer systems around them.

James – The University of Nottingham

“Leaving mainstream school and embarking on A levels through Wolsey Hall enabled James to represent GBR at Fencing and compete in all National and International Events with no interruption to his studies. He excelled due to this and also found studying at his own pace, together with the assistance of the excellent online platform and tutors provided by Wolsey Hall enabled him to obtain the high grades he required in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics.”

Maria – Lancaster University in Leipzig, Germany

“Studying IGCSE’s/A levels through Wolsey Hall gave me a glimpse of the English educational system, which is a bit different from the Spanish one. It helped me be more prepared and confident to face university.” As a chemical engineer Maria will be involved in the process of converting raw materials into a variety of products we use everyday.

Isobel – Lancaster University in Leipzig, Germany

Isabel had this to say about her time with Wolsey Hall, “The math course was very helpful, not only to learn more but to enter university as well.” Software engineering is an area of computer science that includes building and developing computer systems and applications software. Once qualified, Isabel will help to develop, design and test computer software.

Hana – New Giza University, Egypt

Hana thoroughly enjoyed her time studying with Wolsey Hall Oxford. Her mum had this to say, “It was a great experience and helped Hana to start her beloved career in architectural engineering.” Hana is studying at the New Giza University in Cairo just minutes away from the pyramids. As an architectural engineer she will manage the mechanical and structural aspects of a building and will also be responsible for designing the lighting and electrical systems.

Robin is homeschooling while recovering from illness

Subject: Psychology

Robin – University of Edinburgh

Robin is currently studying Psychology at the University of Edinburgh whilst working at a social media marketing agency and a start-up. She hopes to transfer to finance and business in September. “Homeschooling allowed me to work on my studies whilst also sorting out my health and focusing on the things I enjoyed most. I was able to travel and see my family abroad whenever I wanted which I was unable to do in mainstream school. I found I had more time to meet my friends as I was not always at school and was able to go horse riding and do other activities that I had to give up due to my previous schooling.”

Iquo – University of Hong Kong

Iquo from Hong Kong studied from year 9 to her A Levels with Wolsey Hall. She is now at the Education University of Hong Kong studying Psychology and is President of the Psychology committee. When she graduates she hopes to become a developmental psychologist.

Subject: Law

Rafael – National Spanish University

Rafael had this to say about his time with Wolsey Hall, “It helped me gain a level of independence, which has been instrumental in my studies. Even if I am currently studying a legal system that is exceedingly different from the English system, the baseline understanding of Law gave me a head start. I especially want to thank the wonderful tuition and guidance I received from Mr Mason and the whole of Wolsey Hall. Thus granting me tools to obtain an A* in my A level Law, obtaining the highest grade in Spain.” After completing his studies Rafael hopes to become a judge.

Subject: BCom Business Management

Salome – University of Pretoria

Salome had this to say about her experience of Wolsey Hall, “Studying through Wolsey hall helped me become more independent, it allowed me to study from home and manage my own time and schedule. I enjoyed Wolsey Hall’s business subject a lot, which aided in my decision to study business at university. After graduation, I hope to further my education by doing a masters degree.”

Wolsey gave me the support to work through my iGCSEs and A Levels in a way that worked for me. I have gained so much confidence in my own work and ability. After graduating Jessica hopes to pursue a career in mathematical research.

Jesper had this to say about his experience of homeschooling with Wolsey Hall, “Wolsey Hall provided a wonderful and supportive learning environment that enabled me to pursue my academic interests and realise my passion for history, convincing me to do a degree for the subject.” After graduating Jesper hopes to pursue a career in Law.

Lily had this to say about the impact homeschooling with Wolsey Hall had on her life/career choices, ” Wolsey Hall helped me discover a love for physics and allowed me to discover my own passions for specific aspects of the subject, therefore allowing such a strong career path in mind”.

Hannah – Curtin University Malaysia

Hannah had this to say, “I was studying for my A-levels with the help of Wolsey Hall Oxford during a difficult time in my personal life. Because of the support and guidance that I had from my subject tutors, my Student Progress Manager, as well as Wolsey’s comprehensive course content, I was able to score well for the A-level exams with a final score of A*AB, whilst juggling a full-time job in the middle of a pandemic. It is also due to this achievement that I was recently awarded a full scholarship from the Yayasan Tunku Abdul Rahman, a non-government organization in Malaysia, and now I am able to continue my undergraduate studies full-time with a reputable university from Australia.” In the future, she hopes to become a clinical psychologist and start a local community project in her hometown of Sabah that hopes to support single-parent families and their children.

Miruthika – University of Saskatchewan

Miruthika had this to say about her time with Wolsey Hall Oxford, “Wolsey Hall Oxford gave me a chance to continue A-levels from anywhere in the world. I didn’t have to worry about missing assignments, and I was able to do it in my own time. It gave me a new experience and perspective. The tutors and International University Counseller from Wolsey Hall Oxford, especially Dr Vanessa Cheel and Mrs. Sarah Wilson helped me find my interest of study in university and helped me through my application process.” On graduating she will pursue a career as an environmental engineer and hopes to contribute in reducing climate change related issues.

Abdalla – Koç University Turkey

Abdalla had this to say, “I thoroughly enjoyed my Maths courses and my mentor was always supportive and helpful with any questions I had. This made it easier for me to sit down and study for longer periods of time. The topics I studied were engaging enough for me to not grow bored. And, at the end of the day, I had a substantial amount of time to spend by myself and with my family.” After graduating he hopes to work in academia as a researcher in Mathematics and AI.

Fallon – University of Glasgow

Fallon had this to say about homeschooling with Wolsey Hall; “Studying through Wolsey Hall allowed me to acquire the self-study skills and self-management necessary for university-level study, as well as the grades ! It was only when I started my A-Levels that I realised fully what career path I want to embark on – thanks to my 3 subjects: biology (loved it), psychology and geography, all of which I enjoyed and found the method of testing very useful.” Fallon would like to pursue a career as nature conservationist / field guide after completing her studies.

Meet Wolsey Hall Alumni, Tyla

Subject: Economics and Business Economics

Tyla – University of Groningen, Netherlands

Tyla had this to say about homeschooling with Wolsey Hall Oxford; “I would say that learning from home prepares you for university style learning as you are taught to take responsibility of your own performance and future which helps to build trust in yourself as well as independence and discipline.” Tyla is currently studying Economics and Business Economics at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands.
