A flexible, confidence-building approach to learning at home

Supporting children with dyslexia through homeschooling

Overview

Homeschooling a child with dyslexia

Is your child struggling to keep up in school?

Does your child feel frustrated by the fast pace of learning in school? Do they experience anxiety when trying to keep up with classmates? Have they started to show signs of disengaging or forming a negative attitude towards learning?

Learning that works with – not against – dyslexia

At Wolsey Hall Oxford, we understand that dyslexia affects every learner differently – from challenges with reading, writing and memory, to difficulties with processing speed and focus. We also recognise the strengths many children with dyslexia bring to their learning, including creativity, curiosity and resilience.

In traditional school settings, lessons often move quickly and rely heavily on reading and writing, which can be overwhelming without the right support. Homeschooling with Wolsey Hall Oxford offers a more flexible, personalised alternative. Without live lessons or rigid timetables, your child can work through their courses at a pace that suits them, with the time and space to revisit material and build their understanding gradually.
