Prior requirements and hours of study

  • Previous study: CAIE recommends that learners starting this course should have studied a general curriculum such as the Cambridge Lower Secondary programme or equivalent national educational framework such as the Key Stage 3 programme of study within the National Curriculum for England.
  • Learners should allow approximately 150 hours to complete it.

The syllabus and exam

The course will prepare your child for the Cambridge (CAIE) Business Studies syllabus 0450 or 0986.

Paper 1

Short-answer questions and structured/data response questions: 1 hr 30 mins (50% of your overall grade).

Paper 2

Questions arising from a given case-study on the paper (not pre-released). There will be no choice of questions; students must answer all questions set: Paper 2 is 1 hr 30 mins (50% of your overall grade(.

There are Cambridge exam centres in over 150 countries. Wolsey Hall will provide details of the most convenient when you enrol.

All of our IGCSE courses include a number of past exam papers in the final module. These include the most recent paper which can be taken as a mock exam and submitted to your Tutor for assessment and feedback for a modest additional fee.

Course Fees

The fee for IGCSE Business Studies is £655 via instalments. There is a discount of 5% for payment in full reducing the fee to £615.
