Overview

Our Lower Primary Computing course introduces your child to the exciting world of digital technology. It supports them as they begin to understand how computers work, how digital tools can be used to learn and create, and how to stay safe online.

Through a series of playful, age-appropriate modules, your child will develop early computing and problem-solving skills. They’ll explore how computers follow instructions, practise simple coding, and learn to recognise patterns and sequences. With your guidance, they’ll start to use digital devices confidently and responsibly.

The course encourages curiosity, creativity, and logical thinking while preparing your child for more complex computing concepts in Upper Primary. It follows the UK National Curriculum and the Cambridge Primary Computing Curriculum, completed progressively over two years.

Additional information

This course is divided into three parts. Each part includes 12 steps of learning - roughly the same as 12 weeks - carefully designed to guide your child through their studies at a pace that suits them. Every step includes structured lesson plans and resources to help your child apply their knowledge and grow in confidence as they learn. At points throughout the course, there are also assignments that allow your child to demonstrate their learning and understanding to their tutor.

Altogether, the course covers the equivalent of one academic year of study across 36 steps (approximately 36 weeks). This flexible structure gives families the freedom to plan study breaks and holidays throughout the year while keeping steady progress on track.

Requirements: Your child can begin at the stage that best reflects their current experience and confidence using technology. No prior computing knowledge is required.

Study method: A parent-guided course with clear, step-by-step learning content. Lessons include interactive and unplugged (screen-free) activities, videos, and digital resources to support your child’s understanding. Expert Tutor feedback and a dedicated Student Progress Manager are included to guide their progress.

A young student is enthusiastically engaged in an online lesson, wearing light pink headphones and raising one hand while looking at a laptop screen.
