Homeschooling in France

From Primary to A level courses

In recent years, Wolsey Hall Oxford has seen a significant increase in the number of students homeschooling in France. We find families in France choose home education either as an alternative to public school or as supplementary education alongside public schooling. We have a growing number of families who attend mainstream school but also choose to enrol on our Cambridge English courses which are available for Primary, Lower Secondary, IGCSE and A level.

Wolsey Hall Oxford provides structured, stimulating and academically rigorous Primary and Secondary courses, designed specifically for homeschoolers. Our team of Tutors is experienced in teaching at all levels and is committed to a 3-5 day response when returning assignments.

Due to the recent reforms in France regarding homeschooling, we suggest you check with your local academie or mairie for further guidance before embarking on a homeschooling course.

About our courses

Our course fees include all the books your child will need to complete a course, as well as access to our online learning platform. Here your child can retrieve their course materials, submit their assignments and communicate with their Tutors.

We also offer a 45-day refund policy. In addition to subject Tutors, your child will also be allocated a Student Progress Manager who will support them throughout their course, and help them keep on track with assignment submissions. A Wolsey Hall course provides a cost effective but quality alternative to a private school education for those homeschooling in France.

Homeschooling in France
homeschooling skater Jed

Meet Jed

15-year-old Jed is homeschooling in France. Jed is an elite figure skater training at an academy in France and has to fit in his studies around a hectic schedule of training and competing. Jed is currently studying for his IGCSE’s with Wolsey Hall.

‘I do find it hard sometimes to fit the study time in with my training as the hours required are spread throughout the day. When I visit home or my family come to visit me they help me catch up with any subjects that I have fallen behind in. That’s one aspect of how the flexibility of homeschooling works for me.’

How the UK education system works

Thank you so much for your help this year. We have been very happy with the progress Roxanne has made. She has really grown in confidence. It’s hard to believe that when Roxanne started the course she had never written more than a paragraph in her own language, let alone English. Although the creative writing was a struggle to begin with she really took to this aspect of the course, encouraged by her Tutor’s comments. The time travelling allowed her to become an avid reader which helped her imagination blossom. We hope Roxanne will continue to write her stories.
