Legal requirements for homeschooling

In the United States, homeschooling is legal in all fifty States.

Legal requirements vary from State to State. Some have no particular requirements whilst others will require evidence of work undertaken or for the child to complete standardised tests at regular intervals.

You can find out the individual State requirements by visiting the HSLDA website

Thank you very much for your assistance, and I just want to say that homeschooling Sophie and her sister Helene has been made so much easier by your organization’s involvement – the tutors have been fabulous and the course presentation very easy to follow.

The Wolsey Hall approach to reading and phonics is especially well designed. Wolsey approaches learning letter sounds in “layers”. This has made it possible for our daughter to learn to read in a matter of weeks without being overwhelmed. We find it remarkable that our 4 year old daughter is reading small books all on her own with confidence and enjoying it very much.
