Meet the tutor

A Level Politics Tutor: Karen Dawson

I adore History and have had the absolute pleasure of being a teacher, tutor and examiner in the subject. My main interests at university were in Tudor and Stuart England, the Russian Revolution and the First World War.

I undertook my Master’s Degree whilst teaching in a Secondary School, and thoroughly enjoyed rummaging in the Kent County Archives for primary sources relating to the history of crime and punishment. However, there is no area of History I don’t enjoy learning about and I keep learning. I am a member of the Historical Association and take advantage of their courses and articles, and I love to visit English Heritage sites and museums with my two children.
