Cambridge IGCSE

Why choose the Cambridge IGCSE?

Wolsey Hall courses lead to the Cambridge exam for all IGCSE subjects except for Psychology (Edexcel).

The Cambridge IGCSE is equivalent to the UK GCSE and can lead directly to Cambridge GCE Advanced level. A levels are accepted as entry qualifications by universities around the world.

The Cambridge IGCSE is assessed by a final exam, making it particularly suitable for study at home. There is no “coursework”.

There is no upper age limit for students wishing to take a Cambridge IGCSE and Wolsey Hall welcomes Adult Learners.

For further information please see the Cambridge Exam Board website.

About Cambridge Assessment International Education

Cambridge IGCSE subjects

Subjects

Wolsey Hall Oxford provides a broad range of Cambridge IGCSE subjects for you to choose from including Maths, English, Sciences, Humanities and Languages.

Many students at IGCSE Level have not yet formed a clear career path, so taking a good mix of subjects will enable students to keep their options open as they approach their A level choices.

The Cambridge IGCSE course material and exams are presented in English.

Cambridge IGCSE exams

Cambridge IGCSE examination sittings occur twice a year in June and November. There is an additional sitting in March for India only.

These exams can be taken in the UK and in over 150 countries worldwide.

Results are issued in August and January.

Exams are graded A* to G with A* being the highest grade. Typically universities and employers would consider a Grade C to be a pass.

CAIE (previously CIE) provide lots of useful revision resources on their website including past papers with mark schemes for all subjects and some specimen papers.
