International University Advice Service

For students applying to a university outside the UK

The International University Advice Service is designed to help students who wish to apply to a university outside of the UK.

For students wishing to apply to a University in the UK, please visit our UK Universities Advice Service page.

The global admissions process has grown increasingly complex and there are significant differences in the requirements between countries. In order to reduce stress, and avoid wasting time and money, it is important for families to have a clear understanding of what will be required of applicants from the outset.

Many homeschoolers welcome advice on a variety of questions as they consider international university options:

  • What subjects should I take at A level?
  • What co curricular and extra curricular activities should I be considering?
  • What are the application requirements of different countries?
  • When should I start the application process?
  • What forms will I need to complete?
  • What should I write in my application essays, personal statement and/or CV?
  • How can I apply for scholarships and financial aid?
  • Do I need to take SAT, ACT and English Language tests?
  • How can I best present my homeschooling experience to institutions?

Our International University Advice Service will guide you every step of the way: from A level choices, constructing a University shortlist, through to completing the wide range of application forms you may need to complete.

Please note that the University Advice Service is only available to students enrolled with Wolsey Hall, or as part of our ongoing Admissions process.

YouScience Career Aptitude Account

We also offer two services (Explore PLUS and All-Inclusive PLUS) which include a YouScience Career Aptitude Account.

YouScience is a career exploration platform for secondary-age students. What makes YouScience different from other career exploration tools is that the career matches are based on your APTITUDES (your natural talents), and not just on an interest survey alone. This allows you to explore careers that you’ve never thought of before; and ones you might not have known suited your talents.

Once you have created a YouScience account, you will be able to proceed to complete 11 “brain games” which measure your natural aptitudes, work approach, and interests. The brain games take 90 minutes to complete but can be done over several sessions. After all 11 brain games are completed, your results will be ready in your YouScience account.

You will have access to your YouScience accounts for ten years, to ensure that you can take those results and use them not only in high school, but for years afterward as well For further details on the services including a YouScience account, please see below.
