Overview

Our Year 1 & 2 Maths courses help your child build early number confidence and problem-solving skills through fun, practical learning. It lays the foundation for mathematical thinking that supports everyday life and future learning. 

Through engaging, real-world activities, your child will explore numbers, patterns, measurement and shapes. With your support, they’ll begin to calculate, compare and reason — all while developing a positive mindset towards Maths. 

Whether they are working at Year 1 or Year 2 level, this course provides the structure and flexibility to learn at their own pace. 

The courses follow the English National Curriculum and the Cambridge Primary Maths Curriculum and prepares your child for a smooth transition to Upper Primary Maths.

Our courses are designed to be flexible, enabling you to tailor learning to your child’s individual needs and pace. You can work through the course materials in a way that suits your family, whether that's following a structured schedule or taking a more adaptable approach.

Year-by-year breakdown: 

Year 1: Numbers up to 2 digits; Place value; Addition and subtraction; Early multiplication and division; Simple fractions; Practical measurement; Shape, position and direction 

Year 2: Numbers up to 3 digits; All four operations; Fractions; Practical measurement and estimation; Shape and symmetry; Position and direction; Introduction to simple statistics 

Requirements: Your child can begin at the year level hat best reflects their current skills and maturity or at their age-equivalent year level. Our Admissions team can provide individual Level Placement Checks and tailored advice on which level is best to start your child’s learning journey.

Study method: A parent-guided course with structured learning content, including video resources to support reading, writing, speaking and listening activities. Expert Tutor feedback and a dedicated Student Progress Manager are included to help support your child’s progress.

It’s where they’ll find all their study materials and resources, and where they can upload assignments, find out their grades and receive feedback from their course Tutors.
